This latching solenoid valve was used to replace pyro valves, where "zero" leakage is mandatory
for long-term, bubble-tight pneumatic service. It was designed for a prominent aerospace firm for
use on a space project requiring low power consumption in a small lightweight package.
The valve is normally closed. After the main coil is energized, a latch pin retains the valve in the
open position. Energizing the unlatch coil permits the valve to close.

Available also as a non-latching model. (note: 1700-500 is not a submersible model)
