Subsea Limit Switches
Switches designed for ocean service and operate directly submerged in water (20,000 ft. in ocean water or 10,000 psi ambient). Built to meet the highest water immersion ratings such as IPx8 of IEC 529. Unaffected by ambient ocean pressure which means no unintended actuations caused by changing ocean pressures. Strong corrosive resistant stainless steel construction custom molded onto underwater cables. Magnetic coupled and no dynamic seals. 2 wire system and no power required to operate switch.
These limit switches offer abundant overtravel which is the distance beyond the actuation point. The switch’s hysteresis, the distance between “on” and “off”, is a low 0.020 to 0.040 inches.
The switches are typically molded onto underwater cables, connectors and other termination configurations according to customers' requirements.
Applications: Naval Defense, Commercial Dive Operations.
Limit Switches:
- Limit Switch 1809
Ocean submersible, low profile, SS construction - Limit Switch 1812
Ocean submersible, used on ASDS (Advanced Seal Delivery System), tested to 10,000 psi ambient, corrosion resistant titanium, abundant overtravel of approximately 0.4", small and lightweight (6 oz). Configured for PBOF adapter, optional with molded cable and underwater connector. - Limit Switch 1802 (Early Generation)
Ocean submersible to 9,000 psi ambient. SS construction with glass sealed header.
