Designed for a downhole tool, this valve is used to operate an actuator in both directions with a single solenoid. The coil is internally grounded, requiring a single electrical conductor. De-energized, the spool is spring biased in one position. The solenoid is energized to shift the spool with 70 volts (17.5 watts), and can be held in the energized position with 10 volts (2.5 watts) for low power consumption.
This valve combines a unique frictionless design and precision pressure balancing to provide an extremely efficient package. In addition, the valve is designed for high tolerance to shock and vibration such as conditions encountered with a downhole tool.
